Welcome to Reception, where the children lay the foundations that will enable them to become independent and self-motivated learners throughout their whole school lives.
We aim to provide a happy and secure learning environment where all the children are encouraged to try their best and reach their full potential.
We ensure that the classrooms are stimulating places which motivate the children to work hard and achieve whilst also having fun.
Your child will be supported during this important year by Mr Hussey, Mrs Hall, Mrs Corbett and Mrs Johnson.
The Phase Leader for EYFS is Mrs Wilkinson.
In the Foundation Stage there are seven areas of learning:
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We strive to provide the children with a broad and balanced curriculum which caters to the needs of all children. The children will be learning through a number of exciting topics including learning about ourselves, different types of transport and stories by Julia Donaldson and other favourite authors.

PEOPLE WHO HELP US
Reception’s new topic is People Who Help Us. Our role-play area is set up as a Fire and Police Station. The children can have lots of fun taking the 999 calls and putting the fires out and arresting the bad guys!
