Religious Education
We are a non-denominational school, which serves a multi-ethnic population.
Pupils learn about religions and learn from religion and this is done in RE lessons and collective worship.
We follow the LEA guidelines in that our R.E. lessons and collective worship are broadly Christian with children acquiring a knowledge and understanding of the origin, content and developments of Christianity, but they will also have an insight into the other principal religions found in the UK.
We share in each other’s celebrations and festivals, and make personal responsibility a major issue in the way we treat each other.
It is the policy of the Local Authority that parents have the right to withdraw their children from any act of Religious Education.
